For the community.

MEET ANNETTE

Focused on Service. Driven by Community. Committed to You.

Born and raised in Central Ohio, Annette moved to Genoa Township at the age of 11. She is a proud graduate of Big Walnut High School and earned her degree in Communications from Ohio University. Driven by a desire to make a difference, Annette later moved to Chicago to pursue her law degree at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where she participated in the Fair Housing Legal Clinic and Moot Court.

For over 15 years, Annette built a successful career in higher education administration, holding leadership roles in both legal and dental education. With a passion for people and a strong foundation in law, she transitioned into human resources and currently serves as Director of Human Resources for a company based in Westerville, Ohio.

Annette, her husband Craig, and their two children proudly call Genoa Township home. After nearly a decade away, Annette knew she wanted to return to Delaware County, within the Big Walnut School District. Eighteen years ago, her family found their forever home in Genoa Township—a decision she continues to feel grateful for every day.

Annette takes great pride in her community and believes strongly in the importance of being engaged and giving back. She has volunteered with the Big Walnut Elementary PTO, served as a parent representative on the Big Walnut COVID Task Force, coached for the Big Walnut Soccer Association, and played a leadership role in the Genoa Township Residents for Responsible Development (GTRRD), helping to successfully pass a referendum that sought to protect the character of the community.

In 2025, Annette was appointed as a Trustee for Genoa Township. Since her appointment, she has worked diligently to promote responsible development, strategic growth, transparent governance, and enhanced township operations. Her background in law and human resources has provided a strong foundation for leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Annette is married to Craig McMurry, a special education teacher in Mount Vernon City Schools. Together, they have two children—Ross, a junior at Big Walnut High School and the Delaware Area Career Center, and Evelyn, a sixth-grade student at Big Walnut Middle School. Annette’s extended family lives throughout Galena, in both Genoa and Harlem Townships.

Annette believes in listening first, leading with integrity, and making decisions that reflect the values and voices of the residents she serves. She is committed to building a stronger, more connected Genoa Township—one that honors its roots while planning wisely for the future.

She would be honored to earn your vote this November.
